जो भी दिल दिलगीर था अब वो दिल दिलशाद हो ।
काम आ जाऐं ज़ुबानें ग़र किसी मस्क़ीन के;
चलिए कुछ मुफ़्लिस-ओ-कमबख़्तों का नारा हो चलें ।

Every heart that was used to be sad, now it should be the joyous ones.

Let’s be the voice of the destitutes & the unfortunate ones.
آتشوں کی شوخیاں چھوڑی ہیں بُھولی تو نہیں۔
برف کی تجویز ہے، ہمنے قبولی تو نہیں
اب تصوّر کی ذرا ان تلخیوں سے بولئے؛
دہک کر چلیے ذرا پھر سے شرارہ ہو چلیں۔
आतिशों की शोख़ियाँ छोड़ीं हैं भूली तो नहीं ।
बर्फ़ की तज्वीज़ है, हमने क़बूली तो नहीं ।
अब तसव्वुर की ज़रा इन तल्ख़ीयों से बोलिए;
दहक कर चलिए ज़रा फिर से शरारा हो चलें ।
Have left playing with fires but not forgotten,
It is the proposal from the ice but I have not acknowledged,
Now just apprise the harshness of imagination,
So with blaze; let’s be the spark again.
دانش آموزی محبّت میں کہاں چلتی ہے جی۔
خالی کاغذ پر ہی یہ شامِ غزل ڈھلتی ہے جی۔
ذہن و دل کو صافگوئی سے عطا کرکے ذرا؛
حرفِ اُلفت کے لئے دِلکش اشارہ ہو چلیں۔
दानिश-आमोज़ी मोहब्बत में कहाँ चलती है जी ।
ख़ाली काग़ज़ पर ही ये शाम-ए-ग़ज़ल ढलती है जी ।
ज़ेहन-ओ-दिल को साफ़गोई से अता करके ज़रा ;
हर्फ़-ए-उल्फ़त के लिए दिलकश इशारा हो चलें ।

آسمانوں کی یہ باتیں چھیڑ ہی لی ہیں تو پھر
اب زمینیں چھوڑئیے چلئے ستارہ ہو چلیں۔
जानते हैं हम कि इस क़स्बे के तुम सरताज हो ।
शम्स बनना है अभी तो ख़ाकज़ाद सिराज हो ।
आसमानों की ये बातें छेड़ ही ली हैं तो फिर ,
अब ज़मीनें छोड़िए चलिए सितारा हो चलें ।
We know that you are the Cheif of this small town Sartaaj !!
